Highlights of my favorite cultural moments while traveling
There are so many different aspects to a culture but I decided to go deeper on five of them as listed below. They are also listed on the home page but I’ve added them here to better organize the content on my site. Also, the dish in the header photo is a pork mango spring roll dish from Hanoi, Vietnam with peanut sauce. Unforgettable.
Food
Highlights of my food treks to include my favorite foods and drinks, cooking classes, and other foodie experiences that I’ve found most memorable. I’ll also make it a point to talk about food that I’ve found generally accessible and affordable. Because sometimes, all you need is the help of a few locals to find the best tasting dishes in any given location.
Art
There is a wide range of magnificent art around the world – from classical paintings and sculptures in museums to street art by prominent or unknown artists trying to make a mark in the local art scene – and I want to capture and document as much of it as I can. Architecture is also an art and a science, and I will do my best to understand and share the most noteworthy examples from my travels.
Live
I’ve witnessed a variety of live performances across all genres while traveling the world and want to share my favorite videos of these productions in this section along with some commentary. These shows can range across the entire live events spectrum including music, theater, street performances, cinematic experiences, dance crews, and more!
Sports
It is undeniable that sports and culture are intertwined in almost every country around the world. Some fans are more passionate than others and different sports carry more importance than others in varying regions. But if you really want to get to know a culture, the topic of the sports and the teams that people support have to be part of that conversation.
Christmas
I try to travel to a new destination every December for the Christmas and New Year holidays, and I’ve noticed over time that every country celebrates the holidays a little differently. And as a photographer and reporter, I’d like to capture and share all the different ways people celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
